Are you a fan of oatmeal? Because if you are, this is a delicious recipe to enjoy during this lock down. Not to mention, it is nutrition and easy to swallow. It is now part of my meal plan every week.
INGREDIENTS 1 cup oats ½ cup roasted almond ¼ Dates granules Najlah Savory spice (buy here) Water Serving 3
PROCEDURE
1. Start by putting 1 teaspoon of Najlah savory spice (you can buy it here) in a drinking cup, add 1 cups of water and allow to sit for 25mins; strain and set aside the one cup spiced water
2. Using a coffee grinder, grind oats and almond separately and set side.
3. Wash the date and wipe dry with a kitchen towel. Pound date into granules using a mortar and pistel.
4. In a bowl pour ¾ ground almond, add 1 cup water and mash using a clean hands, until there are not any lumps left.
5. In a medium pot, strain the almond milk, add 2 cups water and place over heat. Do not cover pot and don’t go away from cooking
6. Before the milk reach a boil, In a drinking cup, add 1 cups of ground oats, 1 cup spice water and mix appropriate.
7. When the milk reaches a boil, mix the oats consistency again. then use Ludayi or a cooking spoon to stir the boiling milk, gradually start adding the oats consistency, stir as you pour until you’ve finish pouring the consistency. Keep stirring for 2mins. After this time thicken has occur. Remove pot from heat and put off the heat. Don’t leave the pot over the heat.
8.. Serve hot in a bowl, Top with date granules and enjoy with some onion baked sweet potatoes.
